Peeking At A Sleeping Beast: Dodge Viper ACR-X

An event we attended last fall was waylaid by a little rain, and we made the journey back home bummed out. Before we left, though, there was one car we spotted through the storm in a distant garage sitting quietly on its own.

Quietly lurking in a garage at Pocono Raceway, the Dodge Viper ACR-X was meant to be the cherry on a track day custard. Not drivable by journalists, but certainly a treat have beheld making its way across the in-field. The purpose-built racer boasts 640 bhp (477 kW) @ 6,100 rpm and 1100  pounds of downforce to stick it at the track. While it didn’t get a chance to show us what it was made of, we still wanted to share this shot of it waiting out the rain. See the full stat sheet at Viper Headquarters.
